“A picture often speaks a thousand words,” that phrase has been proven correct many times. For example sometimes when people explain an activity, I don’t understand where I stand, or where I go. Whenever people demonstrate the activity with other people I pick it up quick, obviously I am very visual. Teachers come across all types of children. Some are visual learners, some kinesthetic learners, and others are auditory learners. By the teacher explaining her topic, then the students watching a video and interacting with it, I believe it will help the students get a better understanding of the material.
In my opinion I think integrating visual technology in classrooms is an excellent idea. I remember when I took Algebra, my teacher told us to use the Math Lab. It really helped us out if we didn’t know how to do the problem. What I enjoyed most is we got to see videos of instructors teaching you how to break down the problem. I felt like that helped me out a ton. In the end I got an A in my Algebra class, and the Math Lab had a lot to do with that grade. I really enjoyed United Streaming and Safari Montage; these programs are beneficial and educate the students so adding them to your lesson plan is a great idea. There is so much visual information that will help students comprehend what they are talking about in class. As a physical educator I am going to use these visualizing tools, so I can show the students new activities. This will be helpful because it will help the students grasp the activity faster.
